Pixel Technical Specifications

Information about technical specifications and troubleshooting for pixel lights.

Orientation

Pixels have a receive side and a send side. They flow data in only one direction. Care needs to be taken when splicing, or applying ends to unterminated cable strings, that you are taking into account the directional flow of data in the pixel wiring setup. The input side of a regulated pixel is the side that contains the regulator, the output side is the side that contains the decoding integrated circuit for the pixel.

Continuity Testing

Positive and Ground will always tone out, the data line, because of the IC gates, will never test for continuity.
